Same job. Very different engine.

Legacy RMMs were designed when “remote” meant a VPN, “secure” meant a password and “pricing” meant whatever the renewal letter said. Warp was designed after the industry learned what happens when an RMM is turned against its own customers.

Warp RMMTypical legacy RMM*
ContractNo long-term lock-in. Stay because it is good, not because a lawyer says so.Multi-year terms that auto-renew, with a price bump each time.
SpeedLive updates over a WebSocket. A terminal opens in seconds.Spinners. So many spinners.
Inbound ports on the endpointNone. The agent dials out over one WebSocket and everything rides it.Often extra listeners or a bolted-on remote-access tool.
Script and job integrityEvery job is ECDSA P-256 signed with an expiry. The agent refuses anything unsigned, altered or expired. The agent usually trusts whatever arrives on its channel.
Four-eyes approvalApproval is the signature: a gated job cannot run until a second admin approves it.An approval flag in the UI, if there is one.
Replay protectionSigned expiry plus an on-agent ledger. A job runs at most once, ever.Rarely documented.
Tenant isolationPostgres row-level security on every table. Unset scope means no rows, not all rows.Filtering in application code.
Sign-inMicrosoft 365 only, MFA proven from the token itself. 60-minute idle timeout.Local passwords, MFA optional.
Remote shellBuilt-in ConPTY PowerShell over the existing agent tunnel, with a signed grant and a full transcript.A separate product, or a one-shot command box.
Hardware inventoryMonitors by EDID serial, docks, USB and Bluetooth peripherals, battery wear, per-user print queues, first and last seen.CPU, RAM, disk, serial number.
Lifecycle planningWarp Score 1–100 per device, with AI-rated parts and plain-English keep / upgrade / replace advice. An export and a spreadsheet.
Software deployment15,000+ applications ready to deploy right from the RMM. Desired-state packages keep apps installed or removed.Upload and wrap your own installers.
Agent updatesSigned releases, pilot / broad / everyone rings, automatic rollback if a new build will not confirm.Pushed to everyone at once.
Learning curveA “?” tip on every page, section, column, field and button.A separate documentation portal.

* A composite of what we see across the RMM market. Individual products differ, and some do parts of this well. None we know of do all of it.

// 02 Meanwhile, in legacy land

Still paying top dollar for this?

You know the one. The console that loads like it is on dial-up, the agent that needs a reboot to install an agent, and the renewal letter that arrives before the bug fix does. Expensive, locked in, slow, buggy and stuck in another decade.

  • No long-term handcuffs. Warp earns its keep every month
  • No add-on tax. Terminal, patching, software deployment and reports are in the box
  • No loading bars. Live data over a WebSocket, not a page refresh and a prayer
  • No 2009. Built in 2026, on a modern stack, shipping updates weekly

// 03 Questions

The honest FAQ.

Which operating systems does Warp support?

Today the agent runs on Windows workstations and servers, which is where most MSP fleets live and where we went deep first.

Does Warp do remote screen control?

Not yet. Today you get the live PowerShell terminal, one-click service control and file collection. Screen control is planned over the same signed, outbound tunnel.

Do I need to open firewall ports?

No. The agent only makes outbound HTTPS/WebSocket connections. Nothing listens on the endpoint.

Can I keep my PSA and antivirus?

Yes. Warp integrates with ConnectWise Manage and Bitdefender GravityZone today, with more on the way.

Is it multi-tenant?

From the ground up: platform, MSP partners, clients, sites, devices, with isolation enforced in the database.

How is it priced?

Talk to us at [email protected] and we will put together pricing for your fleet.

Ready to make the jump?

See Warp RMM on your own machines. We will walk you through enrollment, the terminal and the inventory in under 30 minutes.
